Historic Franklin Masonic Hall To Host Haunted Tours October 26, 2019.
October 21, 2019 – Franklin, TN – To kick off the countdown to Halloween, the Historic Franklin Masonic Hall Foundation is offering haunted tours of the Historic Hall on Saturday, October 26, 2019. First constructed in 1823, the Hall is considered one of the most haunted buildings still standing in historic Franklin.
Visitors will have the chance to experience inexplicable phenomena, apparitions, sounds, and smells commonplace at the Hall. The immense tragedy surrounding the Battle of Franklin left many spirits adrift, seeking comfort and longing for home.

The Historic Franklin Masonic Hall, a designated National Historic Landmark since 1973, is the oldest three storied public building standing in Franklin, Tennessee. Its history spans nearly two centuries and notably recognized as the negotiation site for the Treaty of Franklin 1830 between the United States government and the Chickasaw Nation. During the Civil War, the Hall served as an army barracks and quartermaster’s office during Federal occupation and as a hospital following the Battle of Franklin on November 30, 1864. It is the meeting place for the Masons of Hiram Lodge No. 7; the oldest continually occupied lodge in the State of Tennessee. The Hall is open for tours at 10 am and 2pm on Thursdays and Fridays.
